Upcycled toiletry bag, small, camel brown
Upcycled toiletry bag, small, camel brown
Our upcycled Nora toiletry bag is as cute as it is functional. It can be a perfect gift for your sustainable conscious friends or family or a little travel companion for yourself. Moreover, it is a more sustainable option than most toiletry bags, that's because we produce all our home textile products by upcycling waste from laundry houses in Denmark. Upcycling is the most responsible way to deal with discarded textiles; even more environmentally friendly than recycling.
Our products are dyed with 100% GOTS certified organic dyes in the EU, so you can shop with us with a good conscience.

What is upcycling?
What is upcycling?
Upcycling means that we reuse the parts of the discarded garments that are still in good condition, instead of mechanically or chemically recycling them into new yarn. We manually sort through each item by hand to find the reusable pieces we can upcycle into items such as washcloths, dishcloths, tea towels, cushion covers, foot stools and toiletry bags, amongst other things.
We cut out what is reusable and sew it back together into new home textiles. This is the most environmentally friendly way to handle the waste because very little energy and water is required, in comparison with a recycled product, where the material has to be broken down and often mixed with polyester in order to bind the shorter fibres.
The desire to save as much waste textiles as possible from being burnt up into smoke was how the idea for Amolia came about, so sustainability has been at the heart of what we do from day one. Read more about all the ways we try to be as sustainable as we possibly can.
